Booking & Scheduling
How can I book a session at Barecatyra studio?
Booking is primarily done via our online form on the contact page or by email at [email protected]. Please specify the desired service, the preferred date, and the expected duration of the session in your request. We will check our availability and get back to you within 24 hours to confirm the appointment.
Is a deposit required for the reservation?
Yes, to formally reserve a date, we require a deposit of 30% of the estimated total amount. This deposit is fully credited toward the final invoice. Your appointment is considered firmly booked only after the deposit has been received.
Can I cancel or reschedule an appointment on short notice?
We understand that artistic processes or personal circumstances may require changes. Free cancellation or rescheduling of your appointment is possible up to 7 days before the planned recording date. For cancellations made within this period, we retain the deposit as a cancellation fee.
Is there a minimum age for using the studio?
Our facilities are generally open to everyone. However, persons under 16 years of age may not use the studio without the accompaniment of a parent or legal guardian to ensure safety within the studio and the protection of technical equipment.
What happens if I am late for my session?
The booked time begins at the agreed-upon time. Unfortunately, delays cannot be added to the end of the session, as other bookings often follow immediately. We therefore ask for punctuality so that the full time can be utilized for your production.
Production & Studio Sessions
How many musicians can be recorded simultaneously in the studio?
Our studio is designed to record up to 6 musicians simultaneously. We have a spacious live room, a separate vocal booth, and a control room, which allows us flexible microphone placement for various instrument groups.
What technical requirements should I be aware of?
For pure recording, we provide the entire infrastructure. If you bring your own instruments or specific hardware, please ensure they are in working order. We recommend coordinating with our studio manager, Martin Eder, in advance if there are special requirements for power supply or placement.
Do you offer production and arrangement services?
Yes, in addition to pure recording, we offer comprehensive production support. Verena Winkler is available as a producer to help structure your ideas and optimize the musical implementation. Details can be found in our services overview.
How is the studio acoustics managed?
We rely on professional acoustic optimization. Our rooms are equipped with specifically designed acoustic bass traps and diffusers to prevent standing waves and ensure a neutral, precise sound, which forms the basis for high-quality mixing.
Are refreshments allowed in the studio?
Drinks are allowed in the recording rooms provided they are securely sealed. For reasons of equipment safety and hygiene, eating is permitted only in the break area. We ask that technical equipment not come into contact with food.
Files, Delivery & Archive
In what formats will I receive my recordings?
We deliver all final master files as high-quality WAV files (uncompressed) as well as in MP3 format for quick distribution. The exact sample rate and bit depth are coordinated with you in advance, typically using industry standards such as 44.1 kHz / 24-bit or higher.
Will I also receive the individual tracks (stems) of my recording?
Yes, we provide the multitracks and stems of your session. This allows you to further process the recordings at other locations in the future or create alternative mixes. Delivery is handled digitally via a secure transfer service.
How long does the studio keep my project data?
We know how valuable your recordings are. Therefore, we archive all session data for a period of 24 months after the completion of the production. Please ensure that you also create your own backup of your data, as we delete data after this period for privacy reasons.
How is the technical handover of files carried out?
The handover is digital. We use encrypted cloud links to ensure the integrity of the files. Further technical details can be found in our guide on File Formats and Delivery.
What happens if a file is corrupted?
Should you encounter technical problems when importing the delivered files, please notify us within 14 days of delivery. We will immediately check our archive and provide the files again.
Mixing, Mastering & Revisions
How many revision rounds are included in the price?
For our mixing and mastering services, up to 3 revision rounds are included in the standard price. We want you to be completely satisfied with the result. Please group your change requests into a single list per round to ensure an efficient workflow.
What happens if I need more than 3 revisions?
Should further fundamental changes be desired beyond the three included rounds, these will be charged at a separate hourly rate. However, we will always discuss this with you in advance before any additional costs are incurred.
Can I be personally present during the mixing process?
Yes, this is possible and often very productive. You can book a session for mixing to define the sonic direction together with Elisabeth Huber. Alternatively, we offer a purely digital workflow where communication takes place via feedback lists and reference tracks.
When do the rights to the master transfer to me?
The usage and ownership rights to the final master files transfer completely to the customer as soon as the agreed total amount has been paid in full (100%). Details on this are regulated in our Terms and Conditions under the copyright section.
Do you offer mastering for tracks mixed externally?
Yes, we handle the mastering of externally mixed projects. In this case, please send us the mix with sufficient headroom (approx. -6 dB peak) so that we can extract the maximum dynamics and quality during the mastering process.
