Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Barecatyra GmbH stores information on your end device. We are committed to data minimization and full transparency regarding the technologies we use.

1. Definition and Technology

Cookies and similar technologies refer to small text files or data sets placed on your end device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when visiting a website. Barecatyra primarily uses localStorage. Unlike traditional cookies, this data is not sent to the server with every HTTP request; instead, it remains on your device until it is explicitly deleted or the specified expiration period is reached.

2. Storage Elements Used

Currently, we employ only one single element to ensure the functionality of our cookie banner. Without this entry, the system would be required to ask for your consent every time you navigate to a new page.

Name Provider Purpose Category Duration
brct-consent Barecatyra Storage of consent settings Necessary 180 days

3. Data Storage Categories

In our settings dialog, you will find five categories. We hereby inform you that currently only the first category is active:

  • Necessary Storage: Technically essential for the operation of the website (e.g., see section 2). These cannot be deactivated.
  • Functional Storage: Not currently used.
  • Analytical Storage: Not currently used.
  • Marketing Storage: Not currently used.
  • Personalization: Not currently used.

Should we implement new technologies in the future, we will list them in the corresponding category and obtain your renewed consent if legally required.

4. Management and Withdrawal

You have full control over which data is stored locally. You can change your selection at any time by using the dedicated button in the footer of our website:

Alternatively, you can manually clear your browser's local storage via the settings (under "Privacy and Security" or "Site Settings"). Please note that doing so will remove your preferences, and the consent banner will appear again.

5. Legal Framework

The processing of your data is based on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/DSGVO) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG). The storage of information on end devices is furthermore subject to § 165 Para. 3 of the Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021). We also comply with the Consumer Protection Act (KSchG) and the Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act (FAGG).

Further details on the processing of your personal data can be found in our Privacy Policy. For questions regarding your rights, you may contact the Austrian Data Protection Authority (DSB), Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, https://www.dsb.gv.at.
