A high-quality studio production begins with the choice of the right environment. At our studio in Salzburg, we combine meticulously planned room acoustics with modern technology to create an atmosphere where musicians can express themselves freely. Renting our studio includes not only access to the facilities but also active support from an experienced engineer who handles the technical complexity, allowing you to focus entirely on your performance.
Whether it is the recording of a full band, a complex instrumental arrangement, or a high-end demo production, our approach is to preserve the natural dynamics of your music while ensuring the technical precision of a high-end facility. We see ourselves as partners in the creative process, bridging the gap between the artistic impulse and the final signal path.
The Path to Your Recording: In 4 Steps
Who is Studio Rental with an Engineer For?
This service is primarily designed for musicians, bands, and producers who strive for a professional standard but may not possess the necessary hardware or the specific technical knowledge required for optimal miking. For groups wishing to record simultaneously (up to 6 musicians), the guidance of an engineer is essential to avoid phase issues and create a balanced mix between instruments at the moment of recording. It is also an ideal solution for solo artists who need a high-quality demo for labels or funding applications, providing the necessary security and sonic consistency.
How the Collaboration Works in Our Studio
Once your appointment is confirmed, the collaboration begins with a technical pre-check. We analyze your instrumentation and the desired tonal color. In the studio, the engineer takes over the entire signal chain—from the microphone through the preamplifier to the digital conversion. During the session, the engineer acts as the technical conscience: they monitor for clipping, distracting background noises, and consistent quality across takes. Thanks to the separation of the live room, vocal booth, and control room, we achieve clean isolation while maintaining seamless communication via talkback systems.
What You Should Prepare for the Session
To use the valuable studio time efficiently, we recommend thorough preparation. Ensure that all instruments are tuned and technically in perfect working order. We suggest creating a detailed tracklist or a set plan. If you already have demo recordings or reference tracks, please send them to us in advance so the engineer can tailor the microphone setup accordingly. Mental and physical preparation of the musicians is as important as the technical side—time for warm-up exercises should ideally be planned before the official start of the rented time.

What You Receive at the End of the Session
After the recordings are completed, you receive the full raw data. We deliver the multitracks (individual stems) in a lossless format (WAV), using the sampling rate and bit depth chosen during the recording. These files are prepared so that they can be imported seamlessly into any common Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Depending on the agreement, we also provide a rough mix version that documents the progress of the session. Delivery is handled digitally via a secure transfer service.
Timeframes and Scheduling
We offer flexible time windows, from half-day to full-day sessions. The duration of a session depends heavily on the complexity of the material. We recommend planning buffer times for unexpected technical challenges or additional takes. Please note that studio time begins at the agreed appointment time, regardless of when the musicians arrive. Binding bookings are made after payment of the deposit in accordance with our Terms.
What is NOT Included in the Studio Rental
The studio rental covers the provision of the rooms, basic equipment, and technical direction. However, subsequent production steps such as detailed mixing and mastering are not included. These services must be booked separately (see Mixing & Mastering). Similarly, external session musicians, songwriters, or specialized instrument rentals (e.g., a specific grand piano) are not part of the standard price. The provision of catering or special refreshments is available upon request and for an additional fee.
